Valentine & Associates is currently seeking outstanding candidates for a role as Sr. Investment Advisor. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who would like to build sound financial plans, make investment recommendations and place trades for customers. Specific responsibilities:

• Consistently provide exceptional personalized investment services by meeting with members and employees in order to acquire a full understanding of their financial objectives; Analyze financial information and develop a diversified investment strategy using a wide range of products to meet the members’ goals; Advise clients with complex investment relationships on asset allocation and portfolio construction; Follow up on a regular basis to ensure the members’ needs are met.

• Maintain a high level of expertise regarding the University of Texas Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) and Teachers Retirement System (TRS) in order to adequately promote and advise members about this unique retirement plan.

• Utilizes highly developed communication skills and investment expertise in order to quickly build rapport and trust with members and internal customers. Consistently act in a professional and ethical manner, and display a “what can I do to help” attitude.

• Fully understand production expectations and consistently meet or exceed monthly sales quotas.

• Drive activities that focus on continued member growth and building program awareness among Selected Employee Groups (SEG) by:
Conducting seminars and workshops, as needed, on financial and retirement topics;
Prospecting, managing and retaining key members;
Identifying opportunities to expand member relationships;
Consistently following leads elicited through growth generating activities.

• Build and maintain employee relationships by:
Conducting periodic branch trainings;
Attending UFCU sponsored employee events and participating in branch meetings on a regular basis’
Providing coaching, advice and general information about all Investment products and services.

The ideal candidate will possess:
• A bachelor’s degree or designation as a Certified Financial Planner or Chartered Financial Consultant.
• 5 years investment/financial services industry experience required
• NASD Series 7 required
• Series 66, 63 or 65 licenses required
• Life and Health Insurance Licenses required
• Exceptional sales orientation and In-depth investment knowledge
• Strong oral presentation skills
• Strong communication skills – able to demonstrate both verbal and written skills with all levels of the organization
• Credit union experience desired but not required
• Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Bilingual in Spanish highly desired
• Note: Must be bondable.
