Director of Human Resources
A leading technology company in Austin is seeking a Director of Human Resources to take ownership of organizational effectiveness, diversity and culture efforts, compensation design, and performance management programs. The successful candidate will proactively identify issues and actively pursue appropriate solutions, always in support of and in alignment with strategic business objectives. An ideal candidate has worked as the HR leader for a small, nimble technology or professional services company as a ‘team of one’ in a fast-paced, high growth environment.

Primary Responsibilities
• Lead our culture management efforts. Monitors cultural alignment with strategy, leadership effectiveness and employee perspectives. Organize periodic forums for Culture Teams and leaders to share best practices and learn about upcoming initiatives.
• Build a culture that consciously develops a high performance leadership talent pool.
• Shepherd Topgrading initiatives throughout each department.
• Administer leadership and organizational assessments and surveys to identify needs and track progress. Ensure clear and effective communications before, during and after survey implementation.
• Participate in design of succession planning and workforce planning program. Integrate succession planning into business planning and operational reviews.
• Enhance team effectiveness and collaboration through role clarity, structural and team building exercises (i.e., mission and strategy clarification, restructuring, role clarification, teambuilding, conflict resolution, process improvement, etc).
• Manage standard HR administrative duties such as payroll, benefits, and company adherence to federal/state employment policies.
• A combination of 8+ years practical experience in organization development as well as experience in change management, compensation design and strategic human resources initiatives.
• In-depth knowledge, experience and proven success aligning talent development and acquisition to business objectives.
• Ability to coach and advise management team about culture and employee development issues.
• HR leadership experience in a fast-paced, technology centered and start-up environment is a plus.
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Solid analytical and problem solving skills combined with a creative or visionary mindset.
• Strong knowledge base in the following fields:
o Process Improvement
o Performance and Talent Management
o Team Effectiveness
o Organizational Communication
o Strategy/Initiative Execution
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. An MBA or advanced degree in a related field is preferred, i.e. Industrial Psychology, Organizational Development or Behavior.
• Advanced certification in HR is expected.
