Our client, an Austin, TX based company specializing in providing software and services that automate the back-office activities of utility companies of all sizes, is seeking a Software Support Engineer to join their team. The Software Support Engineer will be a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual who will be responsible for troubleshooting and developing technical solutions related to Texas de-regulated electric industry software Your commitment to ensuring that customer issues are resolved in a timely fashion and ability to escalate urgent problems to appropriate internal resources will make your contribution to our company invaluable.

• Field customer technical support inquiries
• Update and maintain trouble ticket activity, using Salesforce
• Troubleshoot back office production issues
• Configure monitoring toolsets and respond to enterprise alerts
• Oversee alert management tasks and run daily operational procedures
• Write SQL queries and ad-hoc de-bugging code
• Analyze and develop software solutions for customer problems
• Maintain customer documentation and procedures and follow proper Customer notification processes
• Work effectively and professionally with other team members
• Share knowledge with others by documenting and contributing to knowledge base
• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience
• 1+ years experience in SQL reporting services
• 1+ years in a dynamic production software support role
• Knowledge in: SQL (2005, 2006), SQL Reporting Services, ASP.net and C#
• Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with and/or conceptual knowledge of the following technologies is a plus: Active Server Pages (ASP, ASP.NET 1.0, 1.1, 2.0), Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Extended Markup Language (XML), C#, Structured Query Language (SQL), Microsoft SQL Server (2005, 2008), Microsoft Visual Studio (2003 & 2005), Internet Information Services (IIS)
• Knowledge of and/or experience in de-regulated electric industry and EDI fundamentals is helpful, but not required
