THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for prospecting, negotiating, and closing revenue generating partnerships. As a member of the business development team, you will play a significant role in expanding the Volusion’s Alliance Program and contributing to the company’s overall growth strategy. The role will balance sales support, partner management, and sales training with the focus of growing the sales pipeline.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close revenue producing partnerships. Manage and increase revenue production from existing partnerships. Develop quarterly joint business plans to drive partner revenue. Develop presentation materials used to promote the Volusion Alliance Program. Present partner value propositions to senior executives at partner prospects. Collaborate with marketing department to create effective campaigns and programs to increase partner related revenue. Work closely in a cross-functional capacity with management and other departments to serve and support the company’s network of partners. Create partner forecasts to accurately forecast partner revenue. Demonstrate product and competitive advantages of Volusion via on site presentations, webinars and various other communications vehicles. Must be proficient in understanding and communicating all products and technical information. Effective time management and ROI analysis to meet sales quotas. Organize partner training to educate and motivate partners to attain and exceed partner quotas.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years business development and partner program experience. Experience developing and delivering sales and marketing strategies. Experience recruiting and managing revenue producing partnerships. Must be a self-starter with outstanding business acumen. Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with senior executives. Proven ability to lead large complex contract negotiations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
College degree in business, marketing and/or engineering. MBA preferred.
