The Role: Instructional Designer, Reading Language Arts

The Instructional Designer, Reading Language Arts is primarily responsible for the development and improvement of the Reading Language Arts curriculum and assessment for our products. The Reading Language Arts specialist works as a team member in the development of Reading Language Arts curriculum and instruction.

Responsibilities:
Participate in planning, development, field-testing, and evaluation of Reading Language Arts curriculum, assessment, and accommodations for diverse populations (ELL and Special Needs students)

Apply current academic research related to Reading Language Arts and reflects such in planning of curriculum and instruction

Review competing Reading Language Arts software

Write and review instructional content for accuracy and compliance with company standards

Review completed storyboards, art and audio prior to programming phase

Review completed online content before quality assurance process

Maintain good working relations within and between departments by working collaboratively and communicating clearly with all team members

Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Architect, Reading Language Arts

Requirements:
M.A., M. Ed., or M.S. specializing in Reading Language Arts

Experience in Reading Language Arts education at the elementary level

Minimum of five years elementary teaching experience

Writing and editing skills

Knowledge of current production software such as Microsoft Office tools

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software applications

Ability to translate instructional best practices into multimedia delivery

Experience developing online educational courseware preferred
