The Role: Instructional Designer, Science
The Location: Austin, TX

The Instructional Designer, Science is primarily responsible for the development and improvement of the Science curriculum and assessment for our products. The Science specialist works as a team member in the development of Science curriculum and instruction.

Responsibilities:
● Participate in planning, development, field-testing, and evaluation of Science curriculum, assessment, and accommodations for diverse populations (ELL and Special Needs students)
● Apply current academic research related to Science and reflects such in planning of curriculum and instruction
● Review competing Science software
● Write and review instructional content for accuracy and compliance with company standards
● Review completed storyboards, art and audio prior to programming phase
● Review completed online content before quality assurance process
● Maintain good working relations within and between departments by working collaboratively and communicating clearly with all team members
● Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Architect, Science

Requirements:
● M.A., M. Ed., or M.S. specializing in Science
● Experience in Science education at the elementary level
● Minimum of five years elementary teaching experience
● Writing and editing skills
● Knowledge of current production software such as Microsoft Office tools
● Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software applications
● Ability to translate instructional best practices into multimedia delivery
● Experience developing online educational courseware preferred
