How to add your LinkedIn profile to Facebook

UPDATE:  This capability is no longer available for your Facebook page.

You now have another way to expand your network by letting all your friends on Facebook know about your “professional” side by reading your LinkedIn profile.  You can add a tab on your Facebook profile which will show your LinkedIn profile without leaving Facebook!  This is a great way to help get the word out about what you do and what you are looking for.  We all probably have “old” high school friends that have no idea what we do.  You never know who they know that might be able to help you in your search. The steps below outline how to do it.

Step 1 – Go here: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?v=wall&ref=appd&id=6394109615

Step 2 – Add the application to your account by clicking “Go to Application”

Step 3- Go to the application config page: http://apps.facebook.com/linkedinprofile/

Step 4 – Enter your “LinkedIn Public Profile URL” and click SAVE.

Step 5 – If you haven’t already added this application before, you will be prompted with a “Add Profile Tab” button to add a new tab to your profile. Click the “Add Profile Tab” button.

Step 6 – Go back to your profile page and if you don’t see the LinkedIn tab, click the “>>” tab and it should appear in the list, you can drag it and reorder your tabs.

    Facebook no longer allows a linkedIn tab. You can add one to a page, but not a profile. This happened November 1st

    Anyone know when/if they are going to bring the LinkedIn profile tab on the new profile layout or will it just remain as an ‘app’ on the left. If you didn’t have this on your old profile it won’t work on the new profile…..
