BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Our client is an event technology solutions provider focused on marketing metrics for tradeshows, conferences, and events. The company was the first to offer an Intelligent Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solution to track attendee interests and preferences at conferences. Our client has extensive experience in successfully delivering event solutions for RFID, Lead Management, Mobile, and Social Media.
POSITION SUMMARY
The objective of this Business Development Representative position is to close new business and drive revenue to the tradeshow and events industry. A Business Development Representative should drive 1.25M of revenue towards Company’s overall goal. Understanding the Solution Selling sales process methodology, selling technology, accomplished consultative sales professional, organized, effective communicator, self motivation, the ability to multi-task, and working independently are some of the keys to success for this position. Candidate must have:
• Six plus years successful technology sales/business development. In-depth experience selling a consultative technology solution
• Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study
• Professionalism – ability to convey professionalism and a positive Company impression when working with clients. Maintain a positive working environment with team members.

Experience in selling in to the Trade Show and Conference Industry, strongly preferred
KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & REVENUE GENERATION
The primary responsibility of this position is the generation of new clientele and revenue for Company in the tradeshow industry. Yearly revenue goal is 1.25M. This role is responsible for seeking out new clientele and actively growing pipeline throughout the year.

PROSPECTING
Activities include direct mailers, email blasts, networking, cold calling, and other activities to generate leads.

QUALIFYING OPPORTUNITIES
Qualify opportunities according to budget, timeline, scope and authority. Prioritize opportunities according to the needs of the business and revenue opportunities.

FOLLOW UP
Responsible for following up with qualified leads and addressing prospect requests.

PRESENTATIONS, DEMONSTRATIONS & MEETINGS
Responsible for presentations/demonstrations of Company’s products and services to prospects.

PROPOSALS & FINAL NEGOTIATIONS
Write, submit, and review proposals. This includes obtaining the prospects budget, using pricing worksheets, working with management to get approval on deviations to established costing. Ensure scope of work sections are well defined and target Company’s profit ratio of 40+%. Finalize negotiations and get PO and/or signed PSA.

SALES PROCESSES
Follow established solution selling processes. Update sales tool (salesforce.com) on a daily basis, including prospecting/opportunity plans, status, etc.

COMMUNICATION
Hold sales status meetings with Sales Manager. Keep sales manager up-to-date on all opportunities and current sales closure plans for each opportunity. Present sales manager with current prospecting plans and activities, which ensure a healthy pipeline.

ADMINISTRATION
Prepare bi-monthly (every other week) status reports to your manager. Ensure the sales tool is updated weekly; assist company with administrative tasks such shipping, travel reservations, and other tasks as assigned.

MARKETING
Assist with marketing and lead generation activities as assigned.
