The Role
The Producer is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, quoting, and selling Commercial, Personal, Life and Benefits Accounts to new clients within their given territory. Counseling and marketing to existing clients is another essential function of the position. The Producer meets service and sales standards of volume with timeliness and quality.
Responsiblities:
• Identify, reach out to and build relationships with new clients. This includes interviewing clients, designing insurance plans, and recommending appropriate coverage.
• Day to day relationship management of existing client base for retention and sale of additional services.
• Presentations and proposals to new and existing clients with comparison quotes and services
• Sales to increase coverage on current policies and accounts.
• Work closely with the Employee Benefits Manager in closing new accounts, renewing existing accounts and ensuring appropriate client compliance
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in employee benefits space is ideal
• Working experience in the healthcare or insurance industries a plus
• Knowledge of HIPPA and enrollment beneficial
• Computer savvy, with working knowledge of MS Office.
• Ability to obtain insurance license through Texas Department of Insurance for Property & Casualty and Life, Accident, Health, & HMO. This includes submitting to and passing a criminal background check to obtain insurance license.
• Great communication skills, both written and oral. Must be able to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
• Possess a hunter-mentality, with the tenacity to generate new business sales, retain existing business, and close sales.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with significant telephone activity. There are a large number of multiple steps in the complex healthcare system and it is essential that tasks are performed with accuracy and speed.
